Art Personal Study Essay

Over the last years a few exhibitions about modern Chinese printmaking took place outside China, but some major exhibitions at such renowned museums like the British Museum would probably lead to a breakthrough in the international art scene... The exciting little journeys art takes me on when creating, the little stories that make up the mundanity of life.

When I was young, my friends always wanted to come round to my house after school because my mum would let us paint.

We had a big easel, a large supply of powder paints, felt tip pens and pencil crayons... Memories of gazing through a finger marked window pane, camera at my side, the train rocking, objects passing, disparate perspectives through the lens.

Where the line of normalcy is shaped differently in the eyes of artists, as everything is relative, there exists the freedom that only artists can create - the space, colour and texture on which that line of normalcy lies, in order to make it one at all...

The decision to study Art and Design as a university course is one which I have spent a lot of time thinking about.

After conference with friends and tutors I have decided that this is the right decision for me as although I am performing better academically in another subject, it is in art and design that my real passion lies...

Although I pursued an academic rather than creative path in school, I have always been fascinated by the patterns that occur in art, architecture and the natural world, and drawing and painting have heightened my appreciation of them... There is such an assortment to written and spoken words, and the shapes of the characters.

Language in itself is a form of art and is one which greatly inspires me... I strongly agree with this statement, and that creativity in art is heavily influenced by the state of mind of the artist...
